Celebrating 70 years at English’s with a special anniversary menu
This year marks a very special anniversary for us at English’s. It is 70 years since Simon’s father bought the restaurant, and the Leigh-Jones family have been at the helm ever since.
Over the years we have seen some famous faces pass through our doors, as well as a few ghostly apparitions. As the seasons change each year we welcome new visitors to the city, giving them a taste of the seaside with our fresh and exciting menus, and have served friendly faces who have dined with us for decades. We’ve been a part of hundreds of birthday celebrations, anniversaries and festive parties – as well as a few wedding proposals!
To celebrate our 70th anniversary we have put together a very special commemorative menu. Taking inspiration from dishes past and present, you’ll find classic delights like lobster thermidor, a nod to our past with a fruity pavlova, and contemporary dishes like paupiette of Dover sole. You’ll also enjoy a complimentary drink that was once served in the 60s – English’s Classic Cocktail.
This special menu will be available throughout October to celebrate 70 years of the Leigh-Jones family at English’s – and join us on social media by sharing your fondest memory, favourite dish and funny story using the hashtag #LoveEnglishs.
