A New Chapter at English’s – But We’re Not Going Anywhere
Heard the rumours? It’s true – English’s was nearly up for sale.… but we’re not going anywhere just yet.
But after much reflection (and, naturally, a few oysters), the Leigh-Jones family has decided to keep English’s right where it belongs: in the heart of Brighton and in the family.
And we’re not just staying – we’re celebrating.
This October marks 80 years of the Leigh-Jones family at the helm and over 150 years of English’s serving seafood, stories, and unforgettable moments in the Lanes. From generations of regulars to first-time visitors, we’ve always believed in the power of good food and great company — and we’re honoured to continue that tradition.
So what’s next?
We’re planning a season of celebrations to mark this incredible milestone. Expect:
- Exclusive events
- Special menus and offers
- A birthday bash worthy of Brighton’s oldest independent restaurant
To our loyal guests, friends, and extended English’s family – thank you. You’ve been part of this story, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you.
Here’s to the next chapter.
Stay tuned – it’s going to be something special.
