Christmas Day at English’s – A First in 150 Years

We’re beyond delighted to share some truly special news: for the very first time in our 150-year history, and to mark 80 years of the Leigh-Jones family at the helm, English’s of Brighton will be opening on Christmas Day, Thursday 25 December 2025. 

For us, Christmas is all about gathering friends and family and enjoying delicious food and wine, so to be able to do that with our extended English’s family this year is a real joy. Expect the same warm English’s welcome, the clinking of glasses, the scent of rich festive flavours, and an atmosphere that feels like dining with your own family (with none of the washing up afterwards).

Christmas Day Opening Hours: 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Sittings Available: 1:00 PM, 1:30 PM, and 2:00 PM

Our Christmas Day Menu is a celebration of indulgence and tradition, from luxurious starters like seared king scallops with haggis pops and tiger prawn cocktail, to showstopping mains including half lobster thermidor, beef fillet with chimichurri and peppercorn sauce, and turkey ballotine with porcini gravy. To finish, festive desserts like Christmas steamed pudding and blackberry curd with lemon meringue promise a sweet finale to a truly memorable day.
