Oysters, Champagne and Mulled Wine This Christmas Day

This Christmas Day, we’re doing something a little special. For the first time in our 150-year history, English’s of Brighton will be open on Christmas Day, and while the restaurant itself is fully booked, we’d love to welcome those passing through the Lanes to join us on our terrace.

Throughout the day, we’ll be serving freshly shucked oysters, glasses of Champagne, and warming mulled wine, perfect for a festive pause during a Christmas Day stroll or a moment of celebration with friends and family.

Oysters have long been enjoyed during the winter months and have always been part of Christmas feasting. There’s something particularly fitting about enjoying them on Christmas Day, right here in the heart of Brighton, where seafood and celebration have always gone hand in hand.

Whether you’re out for a winter walk, visiting the city, or simply fancy stopping by for a glass and a plate of oysters, our terrace offers a relaxed and welcoming spot to mark the day.

Over the Christmas period, we’ll be operating our normal opening hours, with the exception of Boxing Day, when the restaurant will be closed.
