New year brings a new Winter Menu

The New Year brings a fresh start, and a refreshed menu at English’s. Each year, once we have closed our festive menu and are pencilling up our spring menu, we like to bring back some regularly-requested wintry dishes, to make those January blues a little easier.

Bouillabaisse dish

Like bouillabaisse Marseillaise. A much-anticipated dish, we know this winter favourite will put a smile on a lot of our customers’ faces. Bowls piled with fish and shellfish poached in a fennel & saffron stock, with potatoes, and served with rouille & gruyere cheese, bouillabaisse is comfort food at its finest. Order for one, share with another, or enjoy as part of our new English’s Tasting Menu.

You’ll still find a lot of our winter favourites on the menu, like English’s steak & kidney pudding with wilted greens – and warming bowls of smoked haddock & leek chowder with pickled seafood, the perfect start to our new Winter Set Menu, 3 courses, £21.95.

We’ve also added three new desserts to our Puddings menu, including vanilla pannacotta, served with a raspberry & rhubarb compote and pecan biscotti. Watch this space as we’ll be featuring this dessert in our Wine Pairings series shortly.
